Online breathwork sessions…how to prepare

Joining an online breathwork session can be more convenient and more comfortable for some. If you choose to join an online breathwork session and haven’t done it before, then this article is for you! 😊

All you need is:

  • a place where you can lie down comfortably and undisturbed

  • good internet connection

  • blanket & a pillow (for either neck support or to prop up your legs to support your lower back)

  • journal/notepad and pen for writing down any thoughts afterwards

  • water

For the online breathwork sessions, I use Zoom, it can help to download the zoom app beforehand on your phone or try out Zoom before the session if you havent used it before.

Please show up on time. Facilitators (especially me) appreciate that a lot, and it will ensure you don’t miss any of the intro.😊

Before joining Zoom and the session, prepare your lie-down area. Make sure you can comfortably lie down on a Yoga mat, in bed, or on any other even surface.

Finding a comfortable position:

When lying down, make sure the surface you are lying on is comfortable and allows you to lie down with your neck and shoulders relaxed. The face is facing the ceiling (parallel) to allow an optimum air flow.

If you suffer from lower back pain or tension, make sure to support your lower back by propping up your legs in a comfortable way.

During the online breathwork session, you can stay on camera or turn it off.

It will help if your facilitator can see your upper body and observe your breathing. However, it will also work if you are off-camera.

Other considerations:

Headphones can be useful to cancel out any outside noise.

It is also helpful to have a notepad and pen ready for afterwards to write down any thoughts or realisations you might have.

Water will also be helpful in case you get thirsty and to help you stay hydrated afterwards.

If you have any other questions, feel free to comment below or let me know directly!

Enjoy your breathwork journey 😊
